Epsilon Euskadi is a Motor Racing Innovation & Technology Centre aiming to be an international reference point in its field of activity and beyond. Motor Sport drives the competitive spirit and is an incomparable public worldwide communication platform for Epsilon, its Partners and Sponsors.
Epsilon is supported by four activity columns that link to each other in a cycle and also delivering company business and social benefits independently:
The cycle is described as follows: Motor Racing is the centre of attraction to young technicians and engineers and stimulates team work and personal commitment. Epsilon highly educates them to be later incorporated in the Design and R&D areas where they design high added value products that are manufactured and validated in the racing tracks by the Epsilon´s Racing Teams.

The postgraduate master METCA is the flagship of Epsilon´s education column. Started in 2005 in collaboration with Mondragon University, this master fulfils the need for highly qualified engineers in motor sport. Its distinctive practical content comes from the uniqueness of the Epsilon model of integration of education, sport, R&D and manufacturing.
In next coming editions, an expansion to a second master in aerodynamics is planned making use of the Wind Tunnel facilities. Up to 56 students will have the opportunity to learn the latest technologies in engineering and aerodynamics in the classrooms of the new Innovation Centre in Vitoria.
Training technicians and mechanics is an important part of the education activities. Epsilon has a deep implication in this field too and is in close contact with the local vocational training schools. Graduated students follow a test period in the company selecting the best fitted to become mechanics and technicians of the Racing Teams and high tech Equipments.

With the strong human team and equipment investments, the Epsilon´s Innovation Centre is in good shape to research and design for manufacturing state of the art racing cars as well as parts and components for any high tech industry. These outstanding capabilities have been demonstrated with the design and production of the two ee1 LMP1, the Epsilon Le Mans prototypes that participated for the first time in Spanish history in the Le Mans 24 Hours.
The new Centre is equipped with the first rolling road Wind Tunnel of Spain. This extraordinary infrastructure is the support tool for aerodynamic engineering services, not only to motor sport but also for many different industries. A Super Computer – second most powerful in Spain- is also to be installed delivering high calculation capacity needed for optimizing results of simulation software and will be available for calculation time renting.
A multi-post rig suspension simulator – up to 9 hydraulic actuators-, unique of its kind in the country, and electronic and software laboratories for development of intelligent systems will be put in place too. The design office represents the most important asset of Epsilon, the human factor of the company with its 60 engineer jobs places with the best design, calculation and CFD softwares.
The goal of Epsilon Euskadi is to be a world leader in design and manufacturing of high tech race cars. The infrastructures and technologies deployed for the purpose will be allowing Epsilon to undertake any high tech challenge from any industry contributing to the development of important industries in Spain.

The Epsilon Innovation Centre is carefully planned to be able to work with the most modern and sophisticated materials. 3 Autoclaves, 30 last generation CNC machines and other equipments yield to Epsilon the capability to manufacture the most state of the art parts and components to accomplish final assembly of pure fine finished products.
Self sufficiency and education are at the heart of this infrastructure strategy. Epsilon needs to be able to control its logistic and have the capacity to innovate in production processes. Also, with education genetically fixed in its DNA, the METCA students will upgrade their education spending long days at the workshop. Not only the MASTER students will benefit from the presence of such important workshop but also the technicians will be learning how to operate these machines and their CAM software.

The cycle starts and ends with competition at the race tracks. Motor sport stimulates the most important asset of the company; its human content. At the same time yields unbeatable public exposure to Epsilon´s activities and a unique communication platform for Epsilon, its partners and sponsors. Regarding its products, competition is a unique and exigent testing field for validation of the products.
Epsilon manages its own racing teams in the following championships:
Le Mans 24 Hours, a myth of world´s motor sport like Formula 1 or the Indy 500 miles.
The Le Mans Series that, together with the 24 Hours du Mans represent the top of world endurance racing.
World Series by Renault, Epsilon participates with 2 single-seaters Formula Renault 3.5 –FR3.5- and two international high profile drivers. FR3.5 is the step before Formula 1.
Formula Renault 2000, Epsilon participates in two Championships: The Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and the West European Cup Formula Renault 2.0. This is the step before the World Series FR3.5 for the young drivers generally coming directly from karting.
